Kerren started out in the fitness profession as an ACE certified personal trainer. Her work took her from New York to California before settling in her current residence of New Jersey. Her quest to find a solution for avoidable injuries led her to therapeutic massage. In 1999, Kerren became a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. Clarity Healthworks is Kerren Lynch-Gallagher's private practice. Her clientele includes average active individuals, weekend warriors, elite athletes and world-class performers. She has been fortunate to work with the Rutgers University Swim Team, the NFL, the Cirque du Soleil and currently serves on the medical staff of the United States Olympic Committee.
"My work with a varied clientele has taught me that although the demands of our daily lives may be different, many of us suffer from the same injuries and conditions. Your body doesn't know what you "do for a living". What it knows is how you expect it to perform each day. That can mean training for a marathon, or sitting at a computer 5 days a week. My job is to keep your muscles and fascia in the healthiest condition so that they can handle whatever life throws at them." - Kerren
Where is the office located?"
Appointments are offered in a home studio office, located in Cranbury, NJ, as well as on-site for teams or organizations.
It is my first time getting a massage. Can you describe it?"
Upon arrival, you will be asked to fill out an intake form that will clarify any medical issues you may have. After discussing your situation and goals, you will be left alone to undress and get on the massage table. You may undress to whatever level is comfortable for you. You will be lying under a sheet and towel/blanket and only the body part being worked on will be exposed. If at anytime you feel uncomfortable, please let me know.
Does the massage hurt?"
Massage therapy should NOT be painful. If you are in pain your muscles will tense up and make the session much less effective. With that said, when you have a soft-tissue injury e.g. "a knot" in your muscle or any type of tissue adhesion there is a certain amount of discomfort. We always work within your comfort level and a session should never be "painful". I believe we instinctively know the difference between discomfort that is therapeutically helpful and painful touch.
What forms of payment do you accept?"
I currently accept cash, checks and credit cards.
